NY AG Lawsuit Opens Up Wells Fargo Foreclosure Manual
The Wells Fargo Foreclosure Manual used for committing foreclosure fraud has gotten the attention of New York Attorney General Eric Schneiderman and New York State Banking Regulators and now they want to talk to Wells Fargo executives.
Schneiderman and three major regulators are now investigating allegations made in a federal lawsuit in Manhattan that Wells Fargo had Wells Fargo’s Foreclosure Manual to fabricate foreclosure papers on demand.
Aside from Schneiderman and the New York State Banking regulators, several federal agencies have now demanded answers from Wells Fargo including the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau and the United States Trustee Program, the unit of the Department of Justice that oversees bankruptcy courts. They all want to see Wells Fargo’s Foreclosure Manual.
