Disney World Guides Get Over $1000 A Day In Cash For Posing As Disabled Family Members

Tara Palmeri at the New York Post wrote a great piece yesterday about how a company in Orlando, Florida matches wealthy Wall Street types wanting to visit Disney World with a  disabled person that will pretend to be a member of the client’s family for the sole purpose of cutting to front of the line.

This scheme takes advantage of Disney policy at all of it’s theme parks that allows a guest who needs a wheelchair or motorized scooter to bring up to six guests to a handicapped entrance that bypasses the main line for the attraction.

The aristocratic moms of Manhattan who have hired Dream Tours Florida to take advantage of this policy say it is worth the price because it’s more efficient and cheaper than Disney VIP Tours program.  At $130 an hour, Dream Tours Florida’ “black market tour guides” are less than half of Disney’s VIP Tours which range from $310-$380 an hour.

One mom even bragged to Palmeri,

“My daughter waited one minute to get on ‘It’s a Small World’ — the other kids had to wait 2 1/2 hours. You can’t go to Disney without a tour concierge,’’ she sniffed. “This is how the 1 percent does Disney.”

Passing around the phone number for Dream Tours Florida has become a shameless ritual among Manhattan’s 1% crowd during spring break season.  Fearful of being sanctioned by Disney, Ryan Clement who operates Dream Tours Florida will only take your call if you tell him who referred you to their black market service.
