Former British Drug Czar Said Cocaine Created the Financial Crisis By Creating An Atmosphere Of Excitement And Drive

The former British Drug Czar is claiming that the financial crisis was clearly caused by bankers over indulging in cocaine.

Professor David Nutt is a psychiatrist and neuropsychopharmacologist specializing in how drugs that affect the brain. He also explores various  conditions that lead to addiction, anxiety and sleep at Imperial College. He told the the UK Independent,  “Bankers use cocaine and got us into this terrible mess”

Nutt also claimed that cocaine made bankers feel “overconfident” and led to them taking more risks.”

Cocaine was the perfect drug for the banking culture. A culture that promoted excitement and drive. Along with wanting more, more and more.

However, Nutt is a controversial academic. He worked as an adviser to the Ministry of Defence, Department of Health and the Home Office under both Tony Blair and Gordon Brown. and was made chairman of the Advisory Council on the Misuse of Drugs (ACMD) in 2008.   However, he was fired the following year following the publication of a paper in which he argued there was “not much difference” between the harm caused by riding a horse and taking ecstasy. He also claimed that ecstasy and LSD were less harmful than alcohol.
