MFI-Miami Believes Wayne County Treasurer May Have Committed Illegal Tax Foreclosure

On September 26, 2012, Steve Dibert, President of MFI-Miami, an internationally recognized leader in investigating mortgage fraud and mortgage backed securities fraud committed by banks and mortgage servicers, announced that on September 24, 2006, he assembled a legal team to help cancer victim Kelly Parker in her fight to keep her home from what he believes may be a fraudulent tax foreclosure by the Wayne County Treasurer.

MFI-Miami has recruited foreclosure defense attorneys, Anthony DeMatteis and Kelli Meeks to do whatever is legally necessary to keep Kelly Parker and her boys in house  and to have the deed transferred back into Kelly Parker’s name.

On September 17, 2012, MFI-Miami called on Wayne County Treasurer Raymond Wojtowicz to withdraw cancer victim Kelly Parker’s home in Detroit from pending tax auction until such time as a full investigation and an exact accounting of her tax payments from 2005 through 2010 can be completed.

“I have had to take the drastic step of recruiting lawyers for Kelly,” explained Steve Dibert, “because Raymond Wojtowicz and his Deputy Treasurer, David Szymanski have refused repeated requests by MFI-Miami and by roughly 200 Wayne County taxpayers who have called on the two of these men to remove Kelly’s house from the tax auction until I can complete an investigation of what happened and determine who is responsible for this mess. 

MFI-Miami also claims that Wojtowicz and Szymanski have also ignored nearly 40 inquiries from national and international media outlets requesting information about this case.

MFI-Miami, has reason to believe that Kelly Parker did indeed pay her property taxes for 2009 and 2010.  An examination from Kelly Parker’s records and comments made to the Huffington Post by Bank of America on September 24, 2012 makes MFI-Miami believes that her former lender, 1^st Franklin Financial which was acquired by Bank of America, may have paid the taxes to the Wayne County Treasurer’s Office and the City of Detroit.

“The more we dig into this and more we learn of Wayne County’s long history of questionable accounting practices, the more we believe the Wayne County Treasurer and the City of Detroit may have dropped the ball and misappropriated the funds that were supposed to be applied to Kelly Parker’s tax bill,” said Steve Dibert, “However, we can’t confirm anything until we receive a copy of the file from Bank of America and we get the records the attorneys will be requesting from Wayne County.”
