NYC Facing Mass Diaspora

NYC Facing Mass Diaspora Of Residents

Polling Shows NYC Facing Mass Diaspora Of 1 Million Residents If Mamdani Wins Mayoral Race On Tuesday

NYC is facing a mass diaspora of nearly one million New Yorkers should Zohran Mamdani win the race for mayor. The departure of at least 765,000 citizens would be one of the biggest mass exoduses in American history.

JL Partners did a survey for the UK Daily Mail. The poll found that 9% of New Yorkers are planning on leaving the city. New York City currently has a population of 8.5 million.

The JL Parners poll also found a further 25% of New Yorkers or 2.12 million people are considering going.

The poll revealed widespread alarm at the prospect of Mamdani taking over City Hall. People also fear the economic impact a victory it could have for America.

New York City’s economy would crater if that many people left the city. It would also send shockwaves across the rest of the country.

Crucially, the poll found 7% of those earning over $250,000 would definitely leave New York City.

The top 1% of earners in New York pay around half the city’s income taxes.

If a significant proportion of thhe city’s top earners depart, the city’s finances would collapse.

Pollster James Johnson, of J.L. Partners, said:

“Who knows if we can believe people when they say it, but the prospect of Mamdani is so scary to some that they are considering throwing in the Big Apple for new digs.”

Experts say that wealthy New Yorkers are already selling their apartments in anticipation of Mamdani winning.

Many New Yorkers are looking at recloating to the Carolinas which offer lower resident income tax and lower property tax.

Mamdani Expected To Beat Disgraced Ex-New York Governor “Handsy Andy” Andrew Cuomo

Polling found Mamdani is on course to win the election on November 4.

Among those who have made up their mind he was at 45%.

Former disgraced Governor Andrew Cuomo was on 31%. Republican Curtis Sliwa on 22%.

The poll found only 59% of New Yorkers said they would definitely stay in the city under a Mamdani administration.

Men were more likely to leave. 12% of men say they definitely would leave and 25% considering it.

New Yorkers aged 50 to 64 were the likeliest to leave. 12% of younger Baby Boomers say they definitely would leave. However, 33% said they are considering doing so.

Not surprisingly, the poll found that 35% of Republicans would depart as would 11% of Cuomo voters.

Poll Breakdown By Borrough

  • 21% of Staten Island residents say they are leaving. However, another 54% of people say they “may” leave.
  • In Manhattan, 6% of voters in Manhattan said they would definitely leave and 20% said they are thinking about it.
  • In Brooklyn, 8% said they would definitely be leaving and 18% were maybes.

JL Partners conducted the poll between October 23rd and 26th. Poll surveyed 500 registered voters and had a margin of error of 4.4%.

Why The New York Aristocrats Are Freaking Out

Mamdami wants to increase taxes to 2% on New Yorkers earning over $1 million a year. He also wants to tax the top corporate tax rate from 7.25% to 11.5%.

Critics say it will lead to a surge of companies moving to low-tax states like Texas and Florida.

The poll found New Yorkers across the state expect a range of things to be worse with Mamdani as Mayor.

It found 43% expected the number of businesses to decrease, with only 23% thinking it would rise.

45% of New Yorkers believe the problem of antisemitism in the city would get worse.

47% of responents also believe levels of crime and violence will get worse.

39% expect the risk of terrorism to get worse and only 18% thinking it will lessen.

The poll also showed how split Democrat voters in New York are over Mamdani.

Among Democrat voters 32% expect antisemitic views in the city to worsen. 33% also believe crime will rise. 29% think there will be less businesses and 25% said the risk of terrorism will increase.
