The Families Of Disabled Veterans Are In Need Of Your Help For The Holidays

MFI-Miami has teamed up to help local veteran fundraiser Frank Pileggi aka Uncle Buck this holiday season. Our goal was and is to give the families of disabled veterans a happy Thanksgiving and a very merry Christmas. 

So far we have raised over $2,300 of our $2,500 goal. We also surpassed our goal for Thanksgiving. As a result, Uncle Buck was able to deliver Thanksgiving dinner to the families of 70 disabled veterans. 

We can’t rest on our laurels. Winter is here and Christmas is two weeks away. The children of these disabled vets still need help with warm clothes and toys for Christmas.

Furthermore, many of these households rely on the wife’s paycheck or paychecks. Many of these wives work multiple jobs to cover everyday expenses and medical bills. Therefore, these families have little money left for the simple luxuries that most of us take for granted. 

While the war may be over for Orange County’s disabled veterans, the battle for a normal family life on the home front is far from over.
