Cops Bust Florida Politician James Taylor Sending Nude Photos Of Himself To A 12-Year-Old Girl
Police have arrested Fort Pierce City Commissioner and rising Florida politician James Taylor. Prosecutors have charged Taylor with 24 felony counts following a sweeping multistate investigation into internet crimes against children.
St. Lucie County Sheriff’s Office announced the arrest. Police arrested Taylor after executing a court-authorized search warrants at two locations in Ft. Pierce. One of which was Taylor’s home.
The charges against Taylor stem from a case that originated in Evanston, Illinois in August 2024. Evanston police received a report from the mother of a 12-year-old girl.
Authorities say the mother claimed that her 12 year-old daughter had been contacted by a man via Snapchat. Over time, the conversations became more sexually explicit . The suspect now identified as Taylor allegedly sent multiple nude images of himself to the minor. Illinois detectives traced the suspect’s online activity to St. Lucie County, Florida.
In May 2025, they contacted the St. Lucie County Sheriff’s Office. St. Lucie County Sheriff’s Office launched a parallel investigation. Florida investigators confirmed the suspect’s identity as Taylor after reviewing digital evidence. Prosecutors then gathered sufficient evidence to pursue charges under Florida law.
Florida prosecutors have now charged Taylor with 24 felony charges. These include six counts of transmission of materials harmful to minors by electronic equipment. They have also charged Taylor with transferring or displaying obscenity to a minor. In addition. they have also charged Taylor with harmful communication to a minor and lewd computer solicitation.
He also faces four counts of lewd computer solicitation of a child. In addition, prosecutors have charged him with two counts of solicitation of transmission of child pornography.
The court has remanded Taylor to the St. Lucie County Jail. The court has set Taylor’s bond at $360,000.
