Bill Cosby Faces Foreclosure On His Manhattan Townhouse

Amateur Roofie Colada Mixologist Bill Cosby Puts His Multi-Manhattan Townhouse On The Market To Stave Off Foreclosure

Bill CosbyBill Cosby has put his longtime Manhattan home on the market last week for $7 million.

Public records show the disgraced comedian and actor has owned the Lenox Hill townhouse on East 61st Street since 1980.

The amateur roof colada mixologist and his wife are facing foreclosure on the townhouse.

CitiMortgage filed the suit alleging that the Cosbys defaulted on the $4.2 million loan. Public records show Cosby took out the mortgage in 2010.

A February filing by the couple’s legal team denied the allegations in the CitiMortgage suit. Cosby’s lawyers argue that CitiMortgage overstated the debt in their lawsuit.

The 20-foot-wide 19th century brownstone spans approximately 5,000 square feet across its four stories. It’s located in the Treadwell Farm Historic District. Treadwell Farm Historic District spans the blocks of East 61st and 62nd streets between Second and Third avenues.

What The Listing Shows About the Property

The ground-floor entrance leads to an eat-in kitchen and a formal dining room with a wood-burning fireplace. It is one of five in the home. The home  also has an attached sunroom which leads out to the landscaped backyard.

The second level serves as the main living space and has 12-foot ceilings. It also contains the original crown molding and two fireplaces. In addition, the home contains a “intricate 12-inch mosaic hardwood flooring.”

There are a total of six bedrooms consisting of four bathrooms and two half-baths. The top-floor primary suite featuring skylights and floor-to-ceiling windows. In addition to a fireplace and French doors that open to a Juliet balcony. The home also has an elevator.

In 2018, a Pennsylvania court convicted Cosby on three counts of aggravated indecent assault. The court sentenced him to three to 10 years in state prison. Cosby had served nearly three years in prison before the Pennsylvania Supreme Court overturned the conviction in 2021. Justices stated prosecutors had violated Cosby’s due process rights.
