ICE Thugs: Trump’s Secret Police In America
What is happening in the US under Donald Trump is something we never thought we’d see in our lifetimes. The President of the United States using his federal power to build a de facto secret police force.
Masked ICE and HSI officers are being deployed into American citieswith no identification. Under the guise of “illegal immigration,”
Trump has used ICE to target and intimidate people in our communities. Yes, that includes law‑abiding residents exercising their rights.
This should not be happening in America. Yet, here we are.
Traditional Protests Don’t Work
Many liberal organizations still believe that Mahatma Gandhi–style peaceful marches alone will bring real change. We’ve seen the limits of that approach.
Corporate America and the privileged political class are not moved by symbolic actions they can ignore. Occupy Wall Street showed us that more than a decade ago.
Protests do matters but a protest without strategy is easy to dismiss.
Strategy Over Symbolism
Real change requires strategy.
It’s obvious most Americans don’t understand the basic strategies of Sun Tzu. Sun Tzu writes the first step in planning a battle is to study your opponent. You then identify their weakest points. after you attack and put pressure on them there.
That’s how we’ve operated at MFI‑Miami for years. We helped homeowners stay in their homes during the financial crisis. MFI-Miami didn’t do it by begging for mercy. We did it by understanding the system and exploiting it’s weak points.
ICE’s biggest weakness is not inept congressional leadership orthe Democrats taking control of congress in November.
ICE’s biggest weakness are the agents themselves.
Why Do ICE Thugs Hide Their Faces?
There is a reason ICE and HSI officers cover their faces with balaclavas and remove their identification. They know what they are doing will not withstand real public scrutiny or the courts.
Trump and his allies have turned federal immigration enforcement into a tool for their own political agenda. The people carrying out those orders are not abstract “forces.” They are individuals with names, jobs, families, and social circles — and they live among us.
Accountability Through Exposure
One thing the internet has taught us. It’s easy to play tough guy behind a mask. However, the tough guy persona melts away as soon as the mask comes off.
When the names, faces, and professional histories of federal agents become public, a different kind of pressure appears. However, it does not come from activists. It will come from their own friends, families, and neighbors.
The DHS Leak: 4,500 Identities Revealed
A Department of Homeland Security whistleblower recently released information on approximately 4,500 ICE and Border Patrol employees.
That data includes:
- About 2,000 frontline enforcement agents
- Roughly 1,800 on‑the‑ground agents and 150 supervisors
- Names, work emails, phone numbers
- Resumé details, including previous employment
- Additional individuals described as “collaborators,” such as local sheriffs and political commentators aligned with aggressive enforcement policies
ICEList also states that around 80% of the people identified on the list are still employed by DHS.
