Trump And FHFA Director Bill Pulte Have Egg On Their Faces! Their Claims Of Mortgage Fraud Against Lisa Cook Appear To Be False.

Newly unearthed documents challenge the Trump administration’s Lisa Cook mortgage fraud claims are not based in reality. The FHFA’s referral to the DOJ was allegedly supported by documents that demonstrated criminal intent. However, new evidence calls into question the legitimacy of President Donald Trump and Pulte’s claims. In addition, it calls into question if he can lawfully can remove a Fed governor. Critics say this type of action threatens the Federal Reserve’s independence amid political pressure to lower interest rates.

Loan documents for Cook’s Atlanta property indicate she told her lender she planned to use it as a “vacation home.”

Trump administration officials, led by FHFA Director Bill Pulte, have accused Cook of mortgage fraud. Trump and Pulte alleged that Cook lied to lenders by claiming her Atlanta and Michigan properties as her primary residence. If true, these claims would have potentially granted Cook better mortgage and tax rates.

Pulte referred Cook to the DOJ. As a result, the DOJ began a federal investigation. Trump also referenced the allegations as he attempted to fire her.

However, the declaration issued by Cook’s credit union appears to refute those allegations.

The news outlet said it reviewed the loan documents dated May 28, 2021 from Bank-Fund Staff Federal Credit Union. Cook used the credit union to finance the purchase of the Atlanta property. The documents clearly say “Property Use: Vacation Home,”

The documents appears to contradict other paperwork cited by Pulte alleging Cook lied to the lender.

Cook has sued to block her removal from the Fed after Trump announced her firing. A federal judge issued a preliminary injunction allowing her to remain on the Fed while the suit proceeds.
