Floyd Mayweather Busted In Fraud Scheme After Selling $4 Million FaceTime Calls With Elon Musk That Never Materialized
A lawsuit in Miami alleges boxing legend Floyd Mayweather Jr ran a fake cash-for-access scandal. Court papers in Miami claim after Mayweather reportedly sold FaceTime meetings with billionaire Elon Musk.Â
Court papers also indicate Mayweather boasted of his connection to the world’s richest man. As a result, he offered to set up online audiences with him for $4 million dollars.Â
Floyd Mayweather Busted With Fake Promises Of Connecting Tequila Tycoon With Elon MuskÂ
Tequila tycoon Jayson Winer is accusing Mayweather and his real estate partner Jona Rechnitz of fraud. Winer initially turned down the offer to meet Musk. However, both parties eventually agreed that the retired boxer would text the X boss for a fee of $1million instead.Â
But the businessman alleges Mayweather never contacted Musk. Winer claims the screenshot Mayweather sent him was ‘proof’ the text was fake and fraudulent.
As a result, the boxer’s representatives then set a new deal. This time it was for a video call between Winer and Musk. In return, Winer would give Mayweather two of his $160,000 designer watches and an additional $20,000 in cash.Â
Court documents state that a person claiming to be Mayweather’s security guard came to Winer’s home in Miami. He collected the watches and cash. Yet, no video call ever took place.Â
Mayweather claimed he and Musk became tight after Mayweather helped train Musk for a ‘cage match’ against Mark Zuckerberg. The battle of the tech titans never took place.
However, Mayweather endorsed Donald Trump in the 2024 Presidential race. This delighted Musk. Mayweather later described Elon as ‘my guy’. There is no suggestion Musk was aware of any of Mayweather’s promises.Â
Winer is a digital artist who operates under the pseudonym ‘Mr. Black.’
He claims Mayweather and his friend Rechnitz preyed on his ‘desperation.’
X appeared to have ‘shadow banned” Winer’s X account. As a result, Winer became desperate.
This means his content was less visible. The ‘ban’ came as he attempted to sell 21,000 digital pieces of art in a seven-day auction.Â
Mayweather associate Jona Rechnitz pleaded guilty in 2016 to conspiracy to commit honest services wire fraud. Afterwards, he served as a key cooperating witness to federal prosecutors in several high-profile corruption trials.Â
