Is BCLP Attorney Christian Poland’s Job On The Chopping Block? Romspen’s Attorney Could Find Himself Unemployed In The Coming Months
Is BCLP attorney Christian Poland’s job on the chopping block? His employer, Bryan Cave Leighton Paisner has announced they are shedding dead weight in order to save money. The law firm is terminating roughly 8% of their staff by the end of the 3rd quarter of 2025.
The firm has experienced declines in revenue since 2018.
Is BCLP Attorney Christian Poland’s Job Really On The Chopping Block?
It appears it may be. He’s become a serious liability to Bryan Cave Leighton Paisner by representing Romspen in their lawsuit against blogger Steve Dibert. Well, let us rephrase that. He’s not really a liability but an embarrassment.
Poland’s abusive motion practice and behavior has brought the scorn from three federal judges. He has suffered at least 18 humiliating setbacks in the past 3 months in this case.
Poland’s abusive motion practice was so egregious that Judge Rosenberg had to step in. She ordered Poland to seek the court’s permission to file even the most basic motions. Judges usually only reserve these types of rulings for vexatious prison inmates who bombard the court with nonsensical court filings.
Oh, and let’s also not forget the late-night email bombs on Jewish holidays to Dibert’s former lawyer.
Self-proclaimed experienced federal litigators don’t act this way. Why? They know better. So, why does Christian Poland do it? Is he mentally ill? Does he have a substance abuse issue? Or, is he just friggin idiot? Court documents show Bryan Cave Leighton Paisner is billing Romspen nearly $1200 an hour to fight Dibert. However, that was before BCLP lawyer Evan Boyle left the case and parted ways with BCLP.
If Poland does get laid off from BCLP, he will have a difficult time finding a job practicing law. Dibert filed two Bar complaints against him for his conduct in this case. A new law firm will ask him about these. Of course, those questions will lead to more questions regarding his conduct in the Dibert/Romspen case. That is unless he doesn’t become a crew chief at McDonald’s.
Christian Poland has potentially another issue. What if Dibert prevails in this litigation with Romspen? Poland will have to answer how he as a seasoned federal litigator lost the case to a pro-se litigant.
