Texas Scumbag Ali Choudhri Didn’t Just Rip People Off. Court Documents Claim He Allegedly Abused His Ex-Wife In Bizarre Ways Even By Pakistani Standards

Texas scumbag Ali Choudhri has a reputation of being a total slimeball. It’s a reputation Choudhri richly deserves and one that is well earned.

One of his victims, Renee Davy described Choudhri in one sentence by saying, “Absolutely the most unethical, shady, slimy dirtbag!”

If you don’t already know, Choudhri was once a wealthy real estate investor. Well, that is on paper anyway. Fast forward to today and he’s now a deadbeat and fraudster. He now spends all his time driving between court houses across Texas. Why? Well, to begin with, multiple people are suing him for fraud. The US government is criminally investigating him and all of his shell companies are in bankruptcy. Naturally, his creditors are alleging Choudhri is playing a shell game and hiding money.

Naturally, wasting all this time driving across Texas and sitting in court makes it hard to make money. This is why he has a track record of stiffing his lawyers. Most of his 30+ lawwyers have quit his cases for non-payment. Of course, this only compounds Choudhri’s legal and financial problems. Word on the street in Texas is that lawyers across texas are beginning to quietly blacklist Choudhri.

If you think Choudhri’s behavior as a businessman is bizarre and strange, his marriage was totally of the rails. His divorce from his wife, Hira Azhar was even crazier than his business dealings. The Choudhri/Azhar divorce went straight off the rails and into the twilight zone of nuttiness.

During the divorce, Azhar didn’t hold back about Choudhri’s bizarre home life. Trust us, it’s some bizarre stuff even by Pakistani standards. 

Choudhri’s Marriage And Divorce Gives Texas A Sneak Peak At His Douche Baggery

Ali Choudhri emigrated to Texas from Pakistan in 1987 when he was 7 years old. Choudhri’s parents were wealthy Pakistanis who fled the violent political turmoil of Pakistan in the 1980s. 

In 2008, the 28 year-old Choudhri married 18 year old Hira Azhar in Pakistan. Choudhri’s lawyer later claimed the marriage was an arranged by the couples’s parents. 

Choudhri returned to Houston shortly afterwards. Azhar followed him in 2010 after receiving her visa. However, the marriage did not last long.

Choudhri claims he divorced Azhar in 2012 by invoking a Muslim ritual of “talaq” while he was in Pakistan.

A talaq is performed by simply saying “I divorce you” three times in a row. He claims he did this on the day she flew from Houston to Pakistan to visit her family.  

Choudhri later filed a formal divorce petition in Pakistan. Azhar followed suit by filing her own petition in Houston, Texas. The divorce soon turned into a international tug-of-war. Two courts a half a world apart were forced to hash out who had jurisdiction.

Azhar filed a 17-page affidavit during the couple’s Houston divorce proceeding. It sounds like the script from that 1990s Sally Field movie named, “Not Without My Daughter” minus any children.

The Bizarre Personal Life Of Ali Choudhri

In her affavidavit, Hira Azhar claims:

• Choudhri was a monstrous man-child who still lived with his parents when she arrived in the U.S.
• He preferred to sleep between his parents in the same bed rather than sleep with his wife.
• Choudhri hit, kicked and choked her.
• He isolating her from friends and of treating her like a servant.
• Choudhri made her literally kiss his feet.
• He also beat her after she confronted him with evidence of extra-marital affairs that she found on his cell phone. 

When you thought things couldn’t get any more bizarre. They do.

Choudhri’s Divorce Drama Turns Into A Cheaply Written Pakistani Soap Opera

Just weeks before an August 23, 2016 hearing, Choudhri’s divorce began playing out like a Pakistani soap opera.

Choudhri’s lawyers accused Azhar of being bigamist. They allege they found documentation indicating Azhar had married another man six months before meeting Choudhri.

Azhar denied the allegation. Her Texas lawyers say the marriage license was a fake. Knowing Ali Choudhri this very well could be true since Choudhri’s lawyer did not offer any collabrating evidence. 

Choudhri’s lawyer Doug York claimed in court documents something that only happened in soap operas. He claimed a mysterious Islamabad attorney named Fahad Malik allegedly represented the alleged first husband. 

Malik was scheduled to testify in Houston that he did indeed represent Faisal Zafar Malik in Pakistan. Faisal Zafar Malik is the man claiming to be Azhar’s first husband. The first Malik (no relation to the second Malik) supplied York with an affidavit allegedly from Faisal Malik. Faisal Malik signed an affidavit stating he was married to Azhar. 

In an affidavit, Faisal Malik, claims he was born in the U.K. and was a British citizen. He swore that he married Azhar in front of witnesses in May 2008.

Malik also stated she wanted to move to England.

He alleged that “on or near 2009,” she cut off contact with him. 

Choudhri’s Lawyer Files Insane Motion Describing Pakistani Mafia Threats And Assassinations

According to a motion York filed in the case, Faisal Malik was all set to testify. However, he claims “men with guns” who went to his home in UK and threatened him. As a result, Malik had togo underground and “flee the area in fear of his life.” 

As York claimed in hiss motion:

“It is reported that Hira Azhar’s uncle had gang type ties and was capable of carrying out deadly threats.”

However, who “reported” this is unclear. Like most of York’s motion, it lacked any supporting evidence of these claims. York’s motion also contained claims like this:

“The first husband’s attorney reported that it was getting extremely ‘hot’ for his client, that the intimidation of death was accompanied with a bribe request of $300,000 for either stating that he was never married to Hira Azhar, or…’disappear’ and never testify against Hira Azhar.”

That’s some shrewd planning by these “gangster types. First, they threaten to kill a guy while simultaneously offering him a boatload of cash. 

Soon after, armed men gunned down Fahad Malik in Islamabad. Conveniently, he could not testify in a Houston courtroom.

Choudhri’s Lawyer Pushes Wacky Conspiracy Theory Than Hira Azhar’s Family Put A Hit Out On Faisal Malik

Pakistani news reports of Malik’s murder are light on details. Ary News reported that Malik and an associate were shot as they left a police station. However, this appears it had nothing to do with Choudhri and Azhar’s divorce. Apparently, Fahad Malik tried to mediate a skirmish between the associate and a rival group. The skirmish was allegedly “over a girl.”

According to Propakistani, the skirmish started over a comment posted on Facebook.

York also stops short of formally saying Azhar’s family whacked Fahad Malik or that they paid for it.

York just allows the reader to connect the dots. This gives enough room to throw in other potential conspirators like long-time Choudhri nemesis Osama Abdullatif. 

Choudhri’s lawyers also make the bizarre claim Abdullatif helped Azhar return to Houston and supporting her financially. Although Choudhri and York offered no evidence. 

The motion also alleges that Abdullatif hired 10 armed gunmen to storm Choudhri’s office and threaten him. However, York’s filing doesn’t specify who these men were. Choudhri never filed a police report.

Houston Press reports that it’s not clear if Fahad Malik’s murder was connected to the Choudhri case. All Fahad Malik said was he was concerned about his safety. 

All of Choudhri and York’s tall tales of bigamy and mob style hits were all for the nothing. The Texas Court of Appeals ruled that jurisdiction for the divorce belonged in Pakistan. 

However, it did give the Texas courts a preview of what to expect from Ali Choudhri in the coming years.
