Fifth Strike For Trump! Another Trump Appointed Prosecutor Ruled Unqualified By The Court
Federal judges are disqualifying Donald Trump’s picks for U.S attorneys in record numbers. That’s right. Another Trump appointed prosecutor has been disqualified by the federal courts.
On Thursday morning, U.S. District Judge Lorna Schofield removed John Sarcone III as US Attorney for the Northern District of New York. Sarcone’s name may sound familiar. He led efforts to indict New York Attorney General Letitia James. However, it appears karma has comearound andbit him in the ass. He has been stripped of his prosecutorial authority effective immediately.
Schofield ruling that his appointment was unlawful.
The court order disqualified Sarconeby saying:
“From any further involvement in prosecuting or supervising any investigation pertaining to New York v. Trump, Index No. 452564/2022 (Sup. Ct. N.Y. Cnty.), and New York v. National Rifle Association, Index No. 451625/2020 (Sup. Ct. N.Y. Cnty.).”
The judge permitted the government to refile the cases. However, they could only do it through “a lawfully authorized attorney for the Federal Government, without Mr. Sarcone’s involvement.”
Judge Schofield had previously indicated her intention to remove Sarcone from his current position. Politico reports Schofieldwas also going to make moves from to prevent Sarcone from serving in similar capacities elsewhere.
Sarcone joins Trump appointees Alina Habba and Lindsay Halligan in being stripped of their official titles.
Halligan became infamous for her grotesque handing of the Letitia James mortgage fraud case. In addition to her getting busted misleading a grand jury to get an indictment against former FBI Director James Comey.
