Multi-state Foreclosure Fraud Investigation By MFI-Miami Is Getting Media Attention
MFI-Miami has been getting a lot of attention the past few days about the post-foreclosure fraud investigation I’m launching in 6 states. Channel 6 in Orlando is doing a feature on one of my clients. I have also done interviews with major newspapers and banking industry publications.
MFI-Miami also made the front page of both Real Deal online editions in New York and Florida.
“MFI-Miami, a Florida-based mortgage fraud investigation and auditing firm, is launching an investigation into securities firms and banks for allegedly performing illegal foreclosures in New York and five other states, the firm announced yesterday. The investigation will look at foreclosure actions filed between 2005 and 2008 in New York, Florida, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan and Virginia. Many of the illegal foreclosures were on properties with sub-prime loans where the transfer of ownership was not recorded in local property records, making the foreclosure action illegal. These cases are particularly common in states with no judicial oversight of the foreclosure process, the firm said. TRD” – See more at:
I have also received calls from attorneys who want to get involved. So I’m pretty excited.
Well, I need to get back to work. I still have audits to get done.
